FAQ - Ghostpine Breeders

Welcome to the FAQ page of Doodles By Ghostpine Breeders. Here you'll find answers to the most common questions dog breeders receive. Learn more about our genetic testing, and health guarantee.

Do you conduct genetic testing on your parent dogs?

Yes, through DNA testing we know for certain that our parent dogs are clear of all diseases and disorders that can be common in these breeds, and they will pass that on to 100% of their pups. If you would like more information on their genetic testing please contact us!

Are your F1 Labradoodle puppies guaranteed non-shedding?

As F1 Labradoodles, our puppies are the first-generation offspring of a purebred Labrador Retriever and a purebred Poodle. Genetically, they are a 50/50 mix, inheriting one set of alleles from each parent. While the Poodle contributes genes associated with a low-shedding, curly coat (typically linked to furnishings and the RSPO2 gene), the Labrador contributes genes for a straight, double-layered coat, which is more prone to shedding.

Because F1 Labradoodles are heterozygous for these traits, there is variability in coat type and shedding levels across the litter. Some puppies may inherit more Poodle-like coat characteristics (curlier and lower-shedding), while others may lean toward the Labrador coat phenotype. Overall, shedding in F1 Labradoodles tends to be reduced compared to purebred Labradors, but it cannot be entirely ruled out in this generation.

Can I visit your home to meet the puppies?

Yes, we welcome visitors to our home to meet our puppies and see the care and love we put into breeding them. We ask that you please contact us first to book a visit.

Do you provide ongoing support and guidance after purchasing a puppy?

Absolutely! We are here to support you every step of the way, offering guidance and assistance as needed throughout your puppy's life.

What type of health guarantee do you offer?

We provide a 1 year health guarantee to all our families for genetic disorders that we didn't otherwise test for, giving you peace of mind when bringing home a puppy from Ghostpine Breeders.

How old are your parents dogs, and how many litters have your females had?

Echo: is our male (stud) red moyen poodle, he is 4 years old.

Scade: is our female yellow lab. She is 4 years old and has had 1 litter of puppies.

Jade: is our female yellow lab. She is 4 years old, and she has had 1 litter of puppies.

Cricket: is our female chocolate lab. She is 5 years old, and has had no litters of puppies

Fraya: is our female chocolate lab. She is 5 years old, and has had 1 litter of puppies.

What's age do you recommend your puppies be rehomed?
We recommend that our puppies stay with their mother till 8 weeks of age. Puppies need this time to finish weaning, build a strong immune system, and learn important social skills from their mother and littermates. By 8 weeks, they’re healthier, more confident, and ready to bond with their new families.

What is the expected adult size of your F1 Labradoodle puppies?

These puppies are considered medium-sized and are expected to weigh approximately 35 to 55 pounds at maturity. Typically, but with some exceptions, females fall on the lower end of the weight range, while males tend to be slightly larger.
